Regular Events

boof fair

Each year at the end of May we hold a 3-day Book Fair in McGregor to raise funds for our work as a Donkey Sanctuary. This year's Book Fair was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope we can offer this event in 2021 (watch this space for details).

From September to December 2020 we presented fantastic Book Sales at the Sanctuary. Stocks were refreshed regularly and many people came and found perfect gifts for loved ones and spoiled themselves with first-class reading matter in all categories.

Thank you for your support!

The Sanctuary has a reputation for interesting, entertaining and fun-filled AGMs. This event gives you the latest on our past year and future plans through slides and words. This is an opportunity to find out more about the Sanctuary.

This year the AGM was held virtually via Zoom with an option via email for participation.

St Francis Day - celebrating animal welfare

Our annual St Francis Day event will took on a different form this year.

Make every day a day to honour animals. Spend a while in our tranquil gardens: enjoy the beauty of creation, contemplate and meditate on all that is good and beautiful. We invite you to place a stone on our Memorial Cairns at any time that we are open, to honour the memory of a departed loved one, animal or human.

Support Eseltjiesrus

Every donation helps us to improve the facilities, expand our support and rehabilitation of donkeys elsewhere and work towards a more caring culture in our society.
